We have been big fans of all things VW for many years now and have been proud owners of them as well - Beetle, Polo, Caddy pick up, T25 (Westy), bay window, Caddy van and a T4. We started McKinnon Campers in the summer of 2005 after a few years working in the boat building industry when I was working for a leading luxury motor yacht manufacturer as a cabin fitter. We decided to put all the skills and knowledge that I gained in my careers in both boat building and carpentry into something that is not only very rewarding but also turned a passion into a job converting vans to campervans and constructing quality hand built interiors for classic T2 campers. 

Having owned many VWs I understand how difficult it can be to find high quality parts to fit inside your cherished bus, having searched all four corners of the land ourselves and heard other people’s struggles with pre-built kits fitting badly or not at all, I decided that hand built interiors, designed to your individual requirements, and constructed to the highest standard possible was the answer to all the problems you face when restoring or converting a bus.

We offer the full service for interior restorations and conversions from roof linings, furniture, Rock'n'Roll beds, curtains and upholstery, electrics, door cards and panels down to the flooring and much much more.
